Center of Excellence

Craig G. Chang, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a member of the Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence with the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. To earn this designation, Dr. Chang underwent a series of site inspections during which all aspects of the program's surgical processes were closely examined and data on the health outcomes was collected. Only those programs deemed to be clinically superior through their evaluation process are considered for a Centers of Excellence network.

Each Center of Excellence surgical center is evaluated for:

• Procedure success and survival rates

• Quality of medical professionals

• Number of patients treated with a specific condition

• Quality of patient-family-oriented services

• Involvement in clinical research

• Patient satisfaction survey results

• Program depth and breadth

• Treatment planning and coordination

This designation must be renewed each year and our practice must undergo the same rigorous testing with no special treatment. We are very proud to be honored by the ASMBS for our attention to safety and results.
