Do I Qualify for Bariatric Surgery?

The first step to see if you’re a candidate for bariatric surgery is to check your BMI (Body Mass Index) Calculator.

Body Mass Index (BMI) is a ratio of weight in kilograms divided by height in meters squared. This is the acceptable standard for classifying obesity. A BMI of 40 or greater meets criteria for surgery. A BMI of 35 - 40 must be associated with at least one serious medical condition like:

  • Diabetes
  • High blood pressure
  • Asthma
  • Severe Arthritis

Enter your height in feet and inches (Example:5 foot 3 inches) and your weight in pounds. Press the calculate button to determine your BMI.

Your BMI is:

A BMI of 40 or greater meets criteria for surgery.
